Good Morning,
This one is not my fault? It was in todays verse of the day on Biblegateway.com. After I read it, I couldn't get away from it. My mind and heart are consumed with a common theme, youth.
Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.That verse is special to me because its on my Koinonia jacket. Its like God had Boy Scouts in mind when this verse was written. In some ways I need to apologize for this passion but then again, I have to listen to what the Lord says to me.
This past Sunday I heard some yelling outside and it was the boy next door crying and screaming to his mother on the phone. The language the child used was not of the Lord. The child was upset about not being allowed to do something on his dirt bike. He was disrespecting his father with swear words and to make matters worse, told his dad that now he understands why mom divorced him. This seems to be an unfortunate common problem. You can't help but ask, who's at fault? Yes the child was swearing and disrespectful but, who 'trained' him to be like that? You feel a long sermon coming? There is work to be done on many fronts here. I understand why God made the people of Israel wander for 40 years in the desert to get rid of the generations that did not follow His ways. God gave me my marching orders and I will 'do my best' to be obedient to His plan. Help the youth find Christ and train them on a new 'Way' to live.
